Village of Valparaiso
Zone 5The Village of Valparaiso is located 10 kms east of the Town of Tisdale. Originally the village was to be called Beaver Flats, but because the word beaver was in wide use, the name was rejected and Valparaiso was suggested, after Valparaiso, Chile. It was thought that this new name would be unique. Valparaiso means Paradise Valley in Spanish.
