The Village of Spalding was incorporated as a Village in 1924. It is situated 100 miles north of Regina on Highway #6. The population of 600 is made up of diverse nationalities and cultures, including Norwegian, Ukrainian, German, English, and French. The people are outgoing and friendly. Most of the people in the community have an agricultural background with a strong work ethic and community pride. It is an excellent place to live and raise a family or to retire in.

Spalding is an active thriving community with many services available to its residents. A Community Health Center with lab,
x-ray, nutritional, physiotherapy, foot care, baby clinic, and home care services are available. A doctor provides office hours 3 times weekly.

Other facilities and services include the Parkland Regional Library, Spalding Seniors Center, Spalding Recreation Board, a Skating Rink, Curling Rink, and Bowling Alley. We also have active karate and dance clubs for your enjoyment.

Lake Edward is located 8 kms east of Spalding and has camp sites available. The lake has been stocked with pickerel and is a good fishing spot. There is also a campsite in the village for your use.

The Village is serviced by Sask-Tel, Sask Power, Sask Gas, and also has Cable TV available. There are 16 volunteer fire fighters on duty with ambulance service available at Naicam and Watson.

Local businesses include a grocery store, farm supply center, service station, bulk fuel and oil, pharmacy, beverage room, insurance office, trucking company, cabinet maker, banking service, welding and repair, as well as many other service and supply companies. There are three local churches in the village including United, Lutheran, and a Gospel Chapel. A Catholic church is located in nearby Naicam. Service Clubs such as Spalding Legion, White Dove, Willing Workers, United Church Women, Lutheran Ladies, Chelton Ladies, and the Catholic Christian Mothers all work for the betterment of the community.

A wildlife mural has been painted and erected on Main Street and a planter containing wildflowers having been added to enhance the mural. A welcome sign and planter welcomes you to Spalding on the north entrance. Residents take pride in making their village attractive.
