The town of Kinistino
is located on the "Can-Am" Highway
35 kms west of Melfort and 65 kms east of Prince Albert.
Kinistino is a lucrative
farming community in the "Heart of
the Carrot River Valley" where the soil is the rich black loam,
suitable for growing the finest grains, feed and oil seeds in the
Province of Saskatchewan.
An area located 20 minutes
north of Kinistino, known as the "forks",
is where the North and South Saskatchewan Rivers combine into the
Saskatchewan River.
The town has all the amenities of city living. Also, there are health
care facilities and senior living accommodations. Recreation facilities
include an asphalt tennis court, skating and curling rinks, and numerous
ball diamonds. There are creative playgrounds and pool facilities
for the children. Our education facilities include a Kindergarten
to grade 12 school.
Kinistino boasts a "cable television system" which
is fully owned and operated by the Town with 18 stations. Seniors
have
their own facility and the museum displays the Town's heritage. Located
only 15 minutes away is Struthers Lake Regional Park where boating,
swimming, and fishing abound.
