Known as Canada's Hockey Factory, Kelvington is very much a hockey
town, proud to be the home of Wendel Clark, Joey Kocur, and Barry
Melrose. The Kelvington Hockey School operates successfully each
summer by many of the local NHL and Junior players. At the entrance
to Kelvington is a roadside painting of the six NHL players who have
come from this town. It's also a great place to visit if you like
the outdoors.
Kelvington is located only 40 kms from Marean Lake and Greenwater
Provincial Park to the north and 35 kms from Fishing Lake to the
south. Visitors are welcome year-round with unspoiled northern beauty
and an excellent choice of outdoor activities. Summer events such
as farmers' markets, water ski-doo races, fairs and in the winter
snowmobile and cross country ski trails abound. Sign up for the February
Community Poker Derby. Kelvington is part of the
Route 66 Snowmobile Trail that offers over 150 miles of groomed trails
for the excellent snowmobiling.
Municipal services include police protection, fire protection, medical
services, public housing, educational facilities, Parkland Regional
College and a regional library. Recreational facilities include a
