| Greenwater Lake Provincial
Park Zone 8
Greenwater Lake Provincial park is a beautiful year round holiday
resort surrounded by natural Saskatchewan terrain - rolling hills
covered with a mixed forest of trembling aspen and spruce. The marina
and Greenwater Lake itself are a wonderful contrast to the surroundings,
and the recreational opportunities they present are touches that
make Greenwater Lake Provincial Park a holiday must.
Greenwater Lake is a perfect getaway, starting with the creative
playground, tennis court, and the new nine hole grass green golf
course. You will find a change house, cafe and store conveniently
close to the main beach. At nearby Fisherman's Cove you can take
advantage of the year round amenities and enjoy licensed dining.
Your children can even take swimming lessons at the Fisherman's Cove
pool. Soothe your appetite with a frying pan favorite - walleye.
Fish for your own walleye or land a northern pike and perch on Greenwater
Lake or bait your hook at Marean Lake or Steiestol, the stocked trout
lake.
Boating and hiking the various trails are favorite ways to spend
the day. Of course there is always an opportunity to find a cozy
spot on the beach and soak up some sun.
Greenwater Lake Provincial Park is full of camping options. Choose
sites with electricity which are also close to showers and flush
toilets, or select other sites that allow you to get "a little
closer to nature". If you prefer something modern, Greenwater
Lake has
many rental accommodations and log cabins with kitchen facilities
that are available year round. Whether you are planning a weekend
getaway for two, a summer holiday for the family, convention or family
reunion, Greenwater Lake will delight and satisfy you.
Winter in Greenwater Lake Provincial Park is just as exciting as
summer. There are over 100 kilometers of groomed snowmobile trails
that connect to Route 66 (which is part of the cross Canada snowmobile
trail). There are also over 30 kilometers of cross
country ski trails and whether it is winter or summer, the wildlife
is always a pleasant surprise. You may even see an elk, deer, bear,
or moose, wandering nearby. The wildlife, the natural beauty of the
rolling hills, and Greenwater Lake itself are features that make
this park a paradise in every season.
