Fosston is a small farming community located 11 kms south of
Rose Valley on highway 35.
In 1911, five brothers from Fosston, Minnesota settled in the area
and took the name of their old town for the new one. The community
of Fosston enjoys an active curling season, with a rink that boasts
two sheets of artificial ice. There are many bonspiels throughout
the season and the summer sees slow pitch tournaments with the surrounding
communities.
Fosston is located just minutes from the Ponass Lake Wildlife
Center, which has some of the most spectacular and varied wildlife
in the northeast.
