Village of Brooksby
Zone 5
Brook Partridge, a pioneer, owned a shack where the railway was
to be built. In order for its bypass he had to move his shack, so
they called the hamlet Brooks-by!
In Brooksby there is a grain elevator, two seed farms (Walker Seeds,
Van Burck Seeds), and the Willow Creek Rural Municipality Office.
The House of Israel Synagogue, which was erected in 1909, is located
9 kms north of Brooksby on grid #681. The Eden bridge cemetery is
located 1/2 km west of the Synagogue.
If you would like a glimpse of what the natural habitat around Brooksby
was like in the pioneer days take a trip to Barons' Bluff, located
1 kms south east.
